We would like to express our gratitude for the glorious “Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award”. Everyone at the company is overjoyed that the realization of our company philosophies “Unity” and “Pursuing high quality” was evaluated highly. Thank you for providing us with this opportunity.

Although our company manufactures escalator parts, we don’t usually have the opportunity to work on the main body, so we wanted to express the structure and the movements of an escalator with sheet-metal, and that’s what prompted us to make this project.

The most challenging part of manufacturing was making the steps’ trajectories the same and work as smooth as the real escalators. When we board an escalator, we move flat => diagonally => flat, while the steps remain flat at all times although they are inclined along the slope in the back to save space. It was very difficult to reproduce this structure. Furthermore, we needed to speculate strength against the weight of the apparatus itself. 1800 small and large plates were combined to make the steps, and we obsessed on the structure while maintaining quality by keeping flexure during welding/ assembly to a minimum.

Every year, we make cross-divisional groups freely to participate in this Fair with the objective of re-acknowledging the “joy of manufacturing”. The manufacturing process itself is meaningful, but having the project recognized by others and achieving results are very rewarding. We will continue to work hard to win special awards like this again. Thank you very much.
