The idea was to complete the entire product with just the steel plate. We manufactured 3 to 4 parts simultaneously, assembled them, and repeated that process. Manufacturing never went as smoothly as planned, and after the product was half finished, we had to rework a part from the start. The wheels were a combination of 1.0mm and 3.0mm steel plates, but it took us a long time to come up with the way to turn the wheel. Since we wanted to create the entire product in one steel plate without any screws or shafts, we got advice from our friends, and we came up with shapes with less friction, and found the optimum clearance with trial and error. We benefited from our prior experiences of bending by touching the steel plates, and our knowledge on the steel plate characteristics.
We nested about 100 parts on four A4 size sheets, with easy-to-remove joint width, position, and quantity. We used no screws, bolts or welding, just the steel plate, with hand-bend and inlay design. I think these points were evaluated highly for the award, and we are very grateful.
Manufacturing cannot be done without peopleユs intervention. Therefore, I feel manufacturing is メnurturing human powerモ as well. We hope to devote メour commitment in manufacturingモ to all our products, and utilize them for future manufacturing.
