We could win the Gold Prize for the fourth year in a row, after the “Canned coffee heater (sake heater) set” in the 19th Fair, the “Garden gate 1/8 model” in the 20th Fair and the “Ferris wheel” in the 21st Fair. I would like to thank the host of this Fair, associated people, judges, and graduates and students of the Metal Craft Department of our school.
The students learn the satisfaction of completing a piece, the joy of their work being recognized, and the desire to make better products. It obviously is a great experience for them to feel the depth of manufacturing, and you can see it in their enhanced awareness for quality.
The greatest feature of this work is a cam mechanism which is used for up and down movement and rotation movement and a sheet metal part which is used on a drum that supports the cam mechanism. I think that the smooth movement of the cam mechanism was the key to winning this award. I also think that high scores were given to our attempt of making sophisticated design by assembling each simple part as well as to good appearance of the product. I will keep on making inventive approach together with my students. Thank you very much. (Comment by instructor)
