It is a great honor to receive applaud award of Golden prize in the student category. We are pleased with this prize especially because of our cooperation among the classmate for completion.

The reason behind of making this work piece we think is to highlight the workers and operators who are definitely involved in manufacturing SL (steam locomotive).
We discuss what is the effective way to express of that and easily understand the scene of that within the class. The conclusion for us is to dare to make the SL at work-in-progress instead of finished model, which shows the workers and operators position naturally.

This work piece shows the SL at work-in-progress, we therefore consider deeply what should be completed and work-in-progress. Through free talk on making opening in the side and hanging the funnel on a chain, we finalize the production process.
Although it is however, easy to think of, many subjects how to manufacture lie in front of us. For instance, the opening position on SL main body forces us to use sheet metal in multi-lateral shape instead of cylinder.
The production team insists on the wheels to be movable like real one, for which we bought the sample model to check the wheel axis carefully. We made miniature model of wheel axis however, it was very difficult to move the wheel smoothly, where we had to design and try the prototype work many times to finalize the wheel. In addition to them, the proportional size of workers and SL should be the same, where we tried hard to reach the adequate proportion from calculation. This work piece gives us new challenge since our senior had not experienced and there is nothing easy process in this piece.
All our classmate is anxious and cooperative, then we complete this piece.

Through making this work piece, we find the difficulty for new challenge, joy for overcoming the difficulty, accomplishment in overcoming and unity feeling by cooperative working which never get individual working.
We also find the difficulty of sheet metal processing besides the possible expansion of work piece by sheet metal, which shows us the depth of metal processing.

We would like to utilize what we learnt from making this work piece in various cases despite of all classmate is not involved in production.
We would like to raise out technology not only in production but also in various field for making the bright future.
