This Quarter Mobius Loop is our 3D version Mobius Loop. A square pipe is twisted a 1/4 and the ends are welded together. The drawing was easily made with 3D CAD, but we couldn’t automatically unfold because the surface was twisted. So we had to make 8 flat surfaces for each 1 degree angle for all 360 degrees, and it was very time consuming.

Also for welding, since a thin sheet was used for twisting easy, we couldn’t weld too deep, and we had to really focus to maintain a square for the entire circumference.

This piece was completed within a specific time frame, in just one-off component which shows the characteristic of our company that specializes in high-mix, low-volume production.
