In a work that lays an emphasis on forming, the first requirement is to produce a form that matches the design intended. The work we presented in this year's fair is "Japanese Harmony", which loops to describe a circular form. When joining up the plates, therefore, we were especially careful to retain the gentle flow of the form. Whether it is in any particular respect better than the products shown by other companies is another question. Though not terribly confident of the work, we are happy that the amusement of its forming met with appreciation. In no way did we expect to win an award. It came as a tremendous surprise. Our workshop sometimes aids molding artists and sculptors with their work. We hope to continue to improve our technical skills a little at a time,s to produce with precision the forms imagined by these artists and also to expand the range of our own works.
