We spent considerable time and resources on completing the submission. First of all, the complexity of the form made it that much more difficult to develop the drawings. The reason is that since welding makes the material susceptible to distortion and torsion, we went to some trouble to correct this.
It seems that our work found favor in that, despite the difficulty of development, we were able to express forms found in ceramics in the hard material of stainless steel.
At the 10th Precision Sheetmetal Technology Fair we in fact won the Gold Award and the Ministry of Labor Human Resources Development Bureau Director General's Award. The work we submitted that year was my own, and I still remember what a tremendous honor it was. What gives me even greater pleasure this year is that our submission is the work of shop staff.
I hope we will apply our acknowledged skills to the creation of an artistic object. |
