Guidelines for application
The 37th Application
We will hold The Precision Sheet Metal Technology Fair again this year.
Register entry form by October 31, 2024. |
Entry works must arrive by November 30, 2024. |
In the interest of fairness in judging, entries received after the above date will be disqualified from the judging process or considered for next year.

Eligibility Requirements
■ Company
As a general rule, the entry product is to be made by a company that engages in precision sheet metal / sheet metal working business, and uses sheet metal working / machines, in domestic and overseas.
Although multiple listings can be made by one company, only one work by one company within the same category will be subject to examination in the second stage examination. Please note that in the event that multiple items are listed by one company in the same field, the items other than one will not be subject to examination.
■ Students
Students who are studying metal processing at high school, technical college, university or vocational school are applicable to "student fabrication".
Products created by teachers, professors or trainers will be exhibited outside of the “Student fabrication” section.
When & Where
1. The entries are accepted from
May 1st, 2024 through October 31st, 2024
2. The entries should be handed to an AMADA employee or sent to the local AMADA office.
Terms for Application
1. Entry works should be produced by sheet metal processing machines or stamping press and they must represent contemporary sheet metal working technologies.
2. The applicants are responsible for verifying with your client if you can display the product.
3. If you wish to exhibit the works that use third party's copyrighted works (e.g. animation or movie characters), patent, design or trademark rights, please obtain the appropriate permission and approval from the rights holders in advance and attach “Permission to Exhibit”. The same applies to works that resemble or are reminiscent of third-party works in appearance.
4. Do not include company names, school names, logos, or any other motifs that may be associated with the exhibiting companies or schools.
5. Exhibition category : The fair applies following 5 categories. Refer to the samples below.
*The Judging Committee may change the above categories.
1) Sheet metal parts (Single sheet fabrication)
2) Sheet metal assemble parts (Assembly of parts)
3) Welding fabrication (Welding technology & skills)
4) Formative arts fabrication (Idea and impression of formative arts)
5) Students’ fabrication
Products made by student who are studying about metal processing at high school, technical college, university or vocational school.
6. Work piece size should be within
1,500mm in the total outside dimensions (length+width+height) and must not exceed 600mm in each dimension.
Works exceeding the above dimensions will be subject to point deductions and in some cases may not be accepted for the entry.
7. Basically, the entered product will not be returned. If you wish the part to be returned, please contact us.
8. The entries will be on display at Amada Global Innovation Center in Japan from November 2024 through October 2025.
The entries might be displayed in a private show or public show if the applicant accepts it.
How to Enter
Please enter your application information directly on the website, print out the entry form, and send it with your entry.
In addition to the application information, please attach photographs or diagrams explaining “appealing points” and “processing know-how” , as they will be used as reference during the screening process.
If you send disassembled works, please be sure to include photographs of complete form of the work. When exhibiting in the welding section, please attach a photo before finishing.

Selection Process
1. All entries will be judged according to the criteria as below for each category:
1) Does the entry provide hints or ideas for fabricating technologies/ fabricating know-how?
2) Does the entry use advanced or new technology based on today's sheet metal fabricating technology?
3) High quality and high precision work-pieces utilized by advanced and experienced skills and methods.
2. The entries will be judged in two phases:
1) Initial Selection (Public vote)
All entries will be exhibited at the Amada Global Innovation Center from November 2024 through January 2025, to be voted online and by visitors to Amada.
Votes for two or more works in each category will be considered valid votes. Voting for only one work in one field will be invalid.
2) Second Selection
The nominated entries from the initial selection (one product per category for each company) will be evaluated by the Judging Committee which is composed of academic experts and sponsors. Each award winner will be determined based on the number of votes acquired.
Please note that if multiple entries are submitted by one company in the same field, only one work will be subject to be reviewed, and all other works will not be applicable.
Announcement of Winners
The winners of each award will be announced in March 2025.

Privacy policy
1. For the purpose of using personal information
Personal information of applicants to the Fair may be used only for Fair purposes, including placement in printed materials on sponsorship, website posting, announcement of competition results or public relations activities deemed necessary to perform the Fair.
The same applies to award-winning pieces of work. This should be agreed to by applicants in advance.
2. For information of submissions / applying organization
All the information will be widely published in web sites, newspapers, magazines and lectures of seminar, etc.
3. Disclosure of information to third parties
Personal information on applicants is to be used for the above purposes and will not be disclosed to any third party without permission except as may be required by law.
