The most difficult part of manufacturing was deciding its theme. We wanted to include many features that make people feel “ah, this is an interesting!” We have come up with many unique ideas and style-hidden drawer on the back of the clock, vine-like parts entwined on handles to hide many rivets on the doors, the legs that match the design (the idea of these fancy legs came up to cover the simple main body), and the twisted door handles.

For the students, this assignment was given shortly after they officially started studying precision sheet metal processing. Since the classroom hours were limited, and there were many elements that needs to be completed from design (product design, dividing them into parts, sheet metal unfolding), CAD/CAM, operation of various NC machine tools, to painting, it was a challenge to complete it within the set time frame.

I think this part received high scores because of its unique design, the fact that it is a product of practical use, and the judges could feel that the students’ persistence and commitment. We are proud that our students’ practical training was recognized by the experts. We hope to participate in the future fairs as a part of important training.
