This is a miniature
of our entry "refrigerated gourmet delicatessen
showcase". Our customers, high-grade delicatessens
and pastry shops, demand showcases of high quality
to enhance the value of their products. Especially,
stainless steel exterior finishing accentuates minute
finishing defects and calls for advanced welding
skills.
The semisphere is composed of eight parts drawn
with simple urethane rubber tools. The top, side
and bottom parts are welded together closed without
relief.
Key points in fabrication are the accuracy of connected
surfaces and the skill of welding to control thermal
deformation. Welding heat-induced torsion is prevented
and deformation-free finishing is achieved. The
actual product is ten times larger and is composed
of spherical glass panels. Aesthetics must be combined
with high accuracy. We think it was the driving
force for our award.
We fabricated this award-winning product in a single
try by a process similar to the one we use to make
our ordinary products. We were surprised to receive
Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun Award and Gold Award and at
the same time, were glad to know that our business-as-usual
way of making things was recognized. We intend to
improve our techniques and aim to make products
that demonstrate the skill and heart of our employees. |
