Armor of Sengoku era,
Taka (hawk)

●Thickness:SUS304:0.1~0.3mm

From the beginning of the design process, we thought about how to create a solid and forceful atmosphere. We also thought long and hard how to make our work closer to the original. Because we anticipated that it would be difficult to manufacture only using student level skill, we utilized a laser machine, which is installed at the institute, to make the numerous parts of the body armor and hawk. We thought to create a texture closer to the original by stacking these parts.
It was difficult to polish thousands of small parts by hand but the numerous parts created the impression of mass and power. We think that this is the point for which we were awarded the prize.
Our comments on prizewinning? We feel relief more than pleasure, because we had been worried about the outcome since the beginning of the exhibition.

Future Goals (Message from Professor Shigeki Ichikawa)
I want many students to experience the pleasure and pain of manufacturing and the feeling of accomplishment. I would like to continue providing more practical education by studying methods and technologies that enable the realization of flexible ideas without fear even when the skill level may be still immature.
